The McCollums and Sullivans Make Meaningful Endowments and Scholarships
Alumni Nick ’19 and Makayla ’19 McCollum and Kate ’16 and Brendan Sullivan boldly stepped forward to champion student success through the creation of two separate endowments. The McCollums made a gift to create the McCollum Family Endowed Scholarship to assist students in the Scott College of Business who are active members of Pi Kappa Alpha or Zeta Tau Alpha. Kate and Brendan Sullivan made a gift to create the Sullivan Family Aspiring CFP® Scholarship to expand the support of students in the Scott College of Business who have aspirations of becoming a Certified Financial Planner. Their generosity demonstrates the power of giving back at any stage in life and fosters the culture of philanthropy at Indiana State.

Nick McCollum works as a Risk Advisor at First Insurance Group, Inc., while Makayla McCollum works as a Farm Underwriter at Indiana Farmers Mutual Insurance Company. Committed to staying connected with their alma mater, the couple has stayed involved with the University through the Scott College of Business and Sycamore Athletics, and Nick is the immediate past chair of the Alumni Association Board. Kate Sullivan works for Bedel Financial Consulting, Inc. as a Wealth Advisor, and her husband, Brendan, works as an Engineer for the Indianapolis Fire Department. Similar to the McCollums, Kate has remained a devoted Sycamore and currently serves as the chair of the Alumni Association Board. Their leadership is a reminder that it’s never too early to make a lasting impact.
